- Static strength and fatigue strength verification to DIN EN 12633-1
- Fatigue strength verification for vibration loads to DIN EN 61373

The test centre
Vehicle windows and doors must meet high requirements: wind loads, thermal sealing, tightness against driving rain, endurance over the entire vehicle life and safety in the passenger compartment. Our test centre performs the required quality tests to DIN and EN standards – for our own products as well as a service for yours.
You receive reliable, documented and traceable results – and a partner who can derive the design improvement directly from the test result.
Overview
Six test disciplines under one roof
Every assembly is tested as a finished component, not as a model. The test rigs are in Wuppertal and the results go into the release documentation.
- 01Pressure cyclingUIC 566
Tunnel entry and train crossings create short pressure pulses. The rig reproduces them repeatably.
- 02Air and water tightnessDIN EN 14752
Driving rain and positive pressure outside, leakage measured on the inside.
- 03Wind loadDIN EN 12211
Deflection under wind pressure up to the required load step, measured at several points of the pane.
- 04EnduranceDIN EN 1191
Opening and closing over many thousand cycles, followed by a repeat tightness test.
- 05Acoustic insulationDIN EN ISO 10140
Weighted sound reduction index of the glazing, decisive for the interior noise level.
- 06Vibration resistanceDIN EN 61373
Vibration and shock in service, applied in all three axes.
Overview
What the test centre tests
Windows and doors are not only manufactured but tested on the finished component – in our own test centre in Wuppertal, on request also for components from other manufacturers.
| Test | Standard | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Pressure cycling | UIC 566 | Load from tunnel entry and passing trains |
| Air and water tightness | DIN EN 14752 | Tightness in service and in driving rain |
| Wind load | DIN EN 12211 | Deformation under wind pressure |
| Endurance | DIN EN 1191 | Behaviour after many opening cycles |
| Sound insulation | DIN EN ISO 10140 | Interior noise level |
| Vibration resistance | DIN EN 61373 | Vibration in service |
